What Even Is Reiki?

Reiki works with what’s known as life force, or Universal, energy, the natural energy that flows through all of us. This energy affects how we feel, physically and emotionally.

It’s what keeps everything in your body moving, functioning, and in balance.

When that energy is flowing well, we tend to feel calm, clear, and more like ourselves. When it’s disrupted by stress, overwhelm, or emotions (and let's be honest, these are all pretty hard to avoid!), we can feel tense, anxious, or out of sync.

Reiki helps bring that energy back into balance.

After a session, you might notice:

A quieter mind

less tension in your body

feeling more emotionally balanced,

and most importantly

a sense of calm that lasts beyond the session

About Me

Hi, I'm Lisa

I know what it feels like when your mind won’t switch off... I spent years running a business where I was always striving for perfection and never fully able to relax.

It was through starting my podcast that I became curious about energy, which led me to Reiki… and a completely different way of supporting both the mind and body.

Now, I offer Reiki sessions to help you step out of overwhelm and into calm.

I’m also a wife, a mum to two teenage boys, and a dog mum.

Reiki became especially meaningful to me when it helped bring comfort to our dog Hugo in his final weeks.

Some FAQs

What actually happens during a Reiki session?

You’ll lie down fully clothed in a calm, quiet space.
There’ll be soft music, low lighting, and nothing you need to “do”.

I’ll place my hands lightly on or just above your body, working with your energy to help it settle and rebalance.

Most people find it deeply relaxing... some feel warmth or heaviness, and many drift off completely!

Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

Not at all.

You don’t need to understand it or believe in anything specific. You just need to be open to it!
Most people simply notice how different they feel afterwards, which is mostly calmer, lighter, and more relaxed.

What will I feel during the session?

Everyone’s experience is slightly different.

You might feel:

deeply relaxed or sleepy

warmth or gentle tingling

a sense of heaviness or lightness

Or you might just feel calm and still...which is exactly what your body needs.

How will I feel afterwards?

Most people leave feeling:

calmer and more settled

lighter, both mentally and physically

like their mind has finally had a chance to switch off.

Most people also notice better sleep or a continued sense of calm over the next few days.

How many sessions will I need?

That really depends on you.

Some people come for a one-off reset when they’re feeling overwhelmed.
Others choose regular sessions to support ongoing stress, anxiety, or balance (I offer an amazing price for regular sessions)

If you’re not sure, we can always chat about what feels right for you.

What should I wear?

Just come in comfortable clothing... anything you’d happily relax in.

You’ll remain fully clothed for the session, so think cosy, loose-fitting outfits where you can easily switch off and feel at ease.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are held from my home in a calm, private setting, where there is plenty of on-street parking available.

I’ve created this as a calm, safe space for women to fully relax and switch off, so. in-person sessions are currently offered to women only

I also offer distance Reiki if you're not local, or if you’d prefer to receive a session from the comfort of your own home. Both are the same price and the same amazing benefits.

What if I don’t feel anything?

That’s completely okay (and more common than you might think).

Reiki is still working, even if the sensations are subtle.
Often, the biggest shifts are noticed afterwards in how you feel.

Is Reiki safe?

Yes! Reiki is a very gentle, non-invasive practice.
It works with your body, not against it, and is designed to support relaxation and balance.

Reiki is a complementary therapy, meaning it works alongside conventional medical care (not as a replacement for it).

How do distant reiki sessions work?

Distance Reiki works in exactly the same way as an in-person session... I connect with your energy and work with it to help it settle and rebalance.

You don’t need to be in the same room for this, so you can relax and receive the session from the comfort of your own home.

Many people actually find this even more relaxing, as they’re in their own space and more likely to fully switch off, drift off, and experience a deeper level of relaxation.
